Our Story

Welcome to At the Farmhouse Table! Learn about Jenn, her family, and the journey

that led to sharing simple, delicious one-pot meals

from their homestead kitchen.

Meet Us

I’m Jenn, and I’m so glad you're here. I live on a sixty-four acre homestead in central Ontario, where the days are guided by the seasons, the rhythm of farm chores, and whatever’s simmering on the stove. My loving husband and I have spent nearly 16, of our 30 years together, building this life, raising two wonderful sons, who are now grown — and watching our family grow even more with an amazing daughter-in-law and our brand-new grandson, who will no doubt grow up believing all good meals start in a big pot.

Life on the Homestead

Our farm is home to sheep, chickens, ducks, honey bees, a growing garden, and a country kitchen that rarely sits quiet. Here, meals are simple, hearty, and full of comfort — the kind meant to be shared, passed around, and remembered. Think steaming bowls, warm bread, bubbling casseroles, and the kind of food that makes you slow down and breathe in the goodness of home. I’m not a professional chef — just a woman who loves real food, real life, and the deep contentment

found in feeding the people I love.

This site celebrates the farming lifestyle—animals in the barn, produce in the garden, and plenty of muddy boots along the way. I write about the animals we care for, the recipes we cook, and the small adventures that keep life interesting. It’s a welcoming place for anyone dreaming of—

or already enjoying—a simpler, more grounded way of living.

At the Farmhouse Table

So pull up a chair at our farmhouse table. There’s always a place here for family and friends who appreciate honest cooking and a cozy, country way of living. Welcome to our homestead kitchen — from my family to yours!
